"Who would have thought that Fall Out Boy would be playing a sold out arena show in Massachusetts in the year 2013? That’s insane. That being said, like when we we first started playing in this band, like, no one really cared that we made some noise and got paid in some pizza or whatever. People generally started caring a little bit more and believing a little bit more as time went on and eventually it kind of like ended up in a weird rabbit hole and we took some time off and it’s… it’s cool, because in music, there’s a lot of heroes, you know, and to me, when I think about it, the heroes are the guys that are up there and your like really rooting for them, but it’s hard to relate to a lot of the stuff , like you know, by drinking champagne and navax and stuff like that, it’s just… it’s kind of hard to relate to, like, who’s speaking for the outsiders?….. the land of the misfits, you know, there needs to be anti-heroes as well and that’s what got us to crawl out of the little hole we were in because we’ll always stand there with the outsiders and we will always stand there with the kids that feel a little bit different. We are one in the same, we come from the same fucking club." - Pete Wentz, Lowell, MA - 9/6/13.
